Hey! It’s Emily 🙂
I’d like to start by saying I am by no means perfect. I am learning more and more about this every day from other people. More than anything, I’d love for this to be a place where people can share their ideas!
I am trying to live more sustainably and for a while have used my Instagram account (@ecobyemily) to try and help inspire others to make small and maintainable changes in their lives too.
One thing that I remind myself of if I ever question why I put so much time, effort and money into reducing my plastic use and trying to become more sustainable is this:
‘Every piece of plastic ever made is still on earth.’
If you Google this you will get so many results confirming it.
Every piece. Every toothbrush you’ve ever had, every plastic chocolate wrapper, all of it. It’s still in a landfill or floating around in a waterway or ocean somewhere. And it will for hundreds, if not thousands, of years to come.
Our pollution, of all kinds, is having a massive impact on the world around us and we have become so used to our world as it is that it is difficult to see that we need to do something. Small, personal changes is one way to start.
I’d like to help to encourage more people to make small changes so that we might all have a greater, positive influence on the world. I’d like this to be a light-hearted blog full of tips and ideas and inspiration, the reasoning behind my wanting to do this in the first place is quite a heavy topic, but it is true.
So thank you for reading! If there is something you want to see, know or ask then fire away!
